Riverwise Writing Workshop w/ Kahn Santori Davison and T Miller
August 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
As artists; most of us don’t have consistent spaces to celebrate our achievements or ourselves. Co-workers and family don’t understand the joys of getting literary work published in journals or visual work getting displayed at a café. Much of the fulfillment that comes with being an artist has to do with the platforms we’re awarded to express ourselves on rather than the monetary
gain. A lot of us spend too much time downplaying the joy that comes with our artistic triumphs because we work and live in environments where everyone is just “struggling” or “trying to get by.” We don’t feel comfortable sharing our successes because we feel the energy won’t be reciprocated or understood. “Uncomfortable Spaces” explores that.
