i have this place where i can go (a place of calm) – but still i need help
there is no way to make it all by myself
-you see they want all of me, to the very last breath
desiring to check the pulse making sure no life is left
to my advantage… they have no breadth
-narrow minded with blind and constricted hearts within their chests
with knowledge of the two decrees –
i must be patient with my allotted tests
but truly to be satisfied with whatever maybe fall is higher and best
-yeah i know – a scratch of the head to make sense of this mess
indeed chaos is in unsubmissive minds, racist darwinian theories, eugenics, the syphilis experiment
and dash cameras turned off like the body vest-
white ford broncos, civil suits and civil unrest
-and dare i say culturally remembering the dead in excess
perspectives and emotions…
in prison, a plethora of emotions and perspectives manifest
-very few care of e-commerce or block chain to protect one’s interest
so%#%! a I.P.O. when the commissary is low-
deceptive smiles with quick glances it’s survival of the fittest
in this environment of mental illness predators still probe for weakness
med lines full, but it is not a sign of who is the weakest-
some are chronic care patients while most chronically care less
-just found a niche to pill pop to deal with the oppression and stress
calendars for interior design or a thing of sighs and regrets
war stories being told and lived in this atmosphere what can one expect?
when pressure burst pipes even fools can anticipate what can come next
perspectives and emotions…
dreams of coding a cryptocurrency with a new coding text
awoken to sounds of screams, laughter, pessimism, hope and hopelessness
cloud data that’s not really in the clouds – now run a fact check-
on the stock exchange trading in slaves on its precious index
-emoji: [noose around the neck)
inmate forced into a restraint chair for a subjective disrespect
sadistic citizens offered this job to freely express-
their lack of and seemingly control over life and death
the judiciary quick to give summary judgment at the defendant’s request
who can the13th amendment duly convicted appeal to for redress?
-because business is booming in the industrial-prison-complex
end-to-end encryption on my feelings but still my eyes get wet
indeed this situation needs a healing, one that is divine, humane and hi tech
the interlacing of issues that normally appear to be a disconnect-
must be shown, exposed and without fear clearly expressed
and these are just some subdued and modest
-perspectives and emotions…
On September 24th, 2024, the state of Missouri executed an innocent man. Marcellus “Khaliifah” Williams was accused of killing a white woman, even though there was DNA evidence to prove it, “eyewitnesses” were paid to testify, and Black jurors were intentionally excluded from the trial. Even the St Louis Co Prosecuting Attorney acknowledged that errors were made in his conviction and, along with the family of the victim, opposed the death penalty. Over 1.4 million concerned citizens signed petitions and called Missouri Gov Parsons, demanding that he commute Marcellus’s death sentence. Sadly, our voices were not enough and injustice was gravely served. Despite this heartbreaking case, we encourage you to go to the Innocence Project and lend your voice to stopping further state violence: www.innocenceproject.org. We cannot give up on our calls for freedom.
Marcellus “Khaliifah” Williams spent 23 years on death row, yet always maintained his innocence. He devoted much of his time to studying Islam, served as an Imam for Muslim prisoners, and was known as “Khaliifah”, meaning leader in Arabic. Khaliifah was an activist and avid poet. His writings reflected on his experiences, racial injustice, and the broader social issues surrounding the prison industrial complex and criminal legal system. Our love goes out to his family and friends as they mourn his loss. We will never forget what the injustice system has done to innocent humans.
