The MAAFA: The Holocaust of Slavery & the Fight for Freedom

Join Historian and Tour Leader Jamon Jordan for a monthly African & African American Tour Series at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.. We will be learning about the MAAFA – the African Holocaust of Slavery, as well as the Fight for Freedom, including slave revolts, the Underground Railroad and the abolitionist movement in Detroit. This history tour goes right up to the period after the Civil War known as Reconstruction. $15 per adult (16 and above); $12 for Museum Members $10 per student (9-15); $8 for Museum Members YOUTH under 9 years old are FREE Payment for this tour does NOT include entrance into the museum. You must pay admission to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History or become a member of the museum. If you want to buy a student ticket, you must pay in person (cash, check, money order). If you want to receive the Museum Member discount, you must pay in person (cash, check, money order). Also, please be ready to show proof of membership for membership discounted rates.
